Acadie-Bathurst Titan bent but wound up with a 5-4 shootout victory over the Chicoutimi Sagueneens in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League play here last night in front of 1,096 fans at the K.C. Irving Regional Centre.
Bas-Caraquet native Remi Blanchard, the fourth shooter in the shootout, beat Chicoutimi goaltender Christopher Gibson for the winning goal.
The first three shooters from each club failed to score.

The 16-year-old rookie left winger will not suit up again this season for the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League club.
The native of Longueuil, Que., went home yesterday and will play in the Quebec midget AAA ranks for the remainder of this season.
This is shocking news given that Bussieres was selected in the first round, fifth overall, in the 2009 QMJHL draft.

Sat in the back row at the Kingswood Lodge the other night for the second time in three years.
Wish I'd sat closer to the front so I could see the wonder on the faces of the athletes and staff as they were presented with their Canadian Interuniversity Sport men's hockey championship rings, a massive rock with 23 stones decorating an image of the Cavendish University Cup, with UNB in red block letters across the face.
Master of ceremonies Dave Morell called it "a work of art."

Saint John Vito's goaltender Kyle Cameron changes directions during action in the major midget division at the Monctonian hockey tournament in Moncton Thursday against the Valley Wildcats of Kentville, N.S. Sam Maguire connected twice for the Vito's in a 3-1 victory.
Andrew Nolan netted the other goal.
Cameron earned the win in goal.

Steven Anthony believes the Saint John Sea Dogs still have something to prove.
Despite being first overall in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, the 18-year-old forward feels beating the Drummondville Voltigeurs tonight would make a statement.

At his current pace, the Moncton Wildcats defenceman will finish among the top 15 single season scorers in team history when it comes to players who are ages 16-17.

The general manager of the Acadie-Bathurst Titan is sticking by his coach.
Despite the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League team's struggles this season, Sylvain Couturier said he is confident Ron Choules is the right man to have behind the bench.
"He is the same guy that, after replacing Denis Francoeur, allowed us to win 18 of the last 22 games of the season two years ago when we had a veteran team," Couturier said.
